Résumé

Over the last 15 years, the French public research system has undergone many reforms. A key objective of these reforms was to improve research performance and to develop closer ties between researchers and industry, generating heated debates in the academic community. Drawing on a longitudinal sociological study, this presentation will address the consequences of some of these reforms, looking at how academics have responded to change in the research funding environment.
